Katelyn Barham Spends her summer with Meridian

Katelyn Barham Meridian Intern

Meridian Law is excited to announce that Katelyn Barham is working for it as a summer associate.  Katelyn is a rising 3L at Belmont University College of Law where she is an active member of the Belmont Law Review, the Moot Court Team, and is a member of the Dean’s Scholars Program.

Prior to law school, Katelyn graduated from Rhodes College with a degree in Spanish. Before attending law school, she owned and operated a retail home and gift store, which taught her about the legal needs of small and mid-sized companies and the commitment it takes to manage and grow a business. Her leadership and entrepreneurial mindset made her the perfect choice for Meridian, and we appreciate all of the ways she is using her talents to help our team and clients this summer.

“I suspect it’s because of her work-ethic and business background, but Katelyn just gets it,” says Tom Shumate, Meridian’s founder and managing member. “She has hit the ground running in every respect. She provides well researched and written work product and is able to juggle multiple tasks while meeting or exceeding deadlines. She is willing to put in the extra hours when our clients need it. And she supports our firm’s training and business development programs by contributing research and writing blog posts on recent key decisions by Tennessee courts. It is not a coincidence that we have had a lot of success on the matters that Katelyn has worked on this summer. She is going to accomplish great things as an attorney!”
